Q: Why doesn't my 2004 Toyota Tacoma have a tripometer?
I recently purchased a 2004 Toyota Tacoma for my father. I got it home and filled the tank, I went to reset the Tripometer to measure my gas millage. To my amazement there wasn't one. I have tried to search online to see if this is normal but I was not able to locate any information stating that it is a add on option by toyota. Am I missing something or what. Shouldn't it be standard on vehicles. Thank you everyone for your responses.
The odometer is not digital. There does not seem to be any buttons anywhere on the instrument cluster.
A: Every car does. Push in Odometer for 3-5 seconds and tripometer will show as there are not 2 seperate ones.

A: I changed my 04 Tacoma tranny fluid at 60k miles. Pretty easy, just drain and fill.
Trust me, don't pay a dealer to do this, it is easier than changing your oil. Here's a link to instructions.

Then apply that same percentage to the governmental test cycle for the Tacoma that you're looking at, and you get you expected fuel economy.

it is a four cylinder 2wd...i'm looking for more hp and i dont think a lift would look good on a 2 door
A: TRD has a supercharger for it, STS makes a turbo. Otherwise, I recommend an Injen power flow intake and exhaust with a header. Don't f with the ebay chips.

The issue is that The stock harness has only 2 wires for it coming from my truck, but all three of the mirrors I have ordered have three wires from their harnesses....Anyone know why, NO one seems to know any help at all will be greatly appreciated
A: Note are you getting it from Toyota or aftermarket? I suggest going to Toyota and have your Vin # it is possible there was a heated mirror on some SR5 models or TRD models or possible a turn signal but into light in mirror. Hope this helps.

A: Why not just do a high output alt? Duel alts eat up your gas millage and usualy used on Limos that use a TON of power.

I've seen the box that fits behind the back seat and it comes fitted for an 8" subwoofer. Does anyone know if this can box can be altered to fit a 10" subwoofer like the Pioneer shallow mount series. Or could a custom box be built to fit behind the seat and also fit a 10" subwoofer?
