A: They will definitely rub. You'll need at least a 3" lift to clear those tires.

I own a 2000 Toyota Tacoma with 2WD, and I've been wanting to drive up I-70 to go to Keystone and Breckenridge from Boulder. I have placed four studded winter tires on it, and two 60lb sandbags in the bed over the axle. It works well in the snowpack in Boulder, but I'm curious as to whether it would go up well on I-70 through heavy snow conditions? My thinking is that it would be sketchy, but I've never done it so I need good advice.

A: Should be OK but I'd bring sufficient food / water.
I understand the Donner party ran into some difficulties but that was quite a while ago and I don't think they had winter tires on their wagons. I'd imagine that decision eventually ate at them.

Any mechanics out there please help! I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma with around 142,000 miles on it. About 2 months ago, I started to notice the smell of antifreeze in the cab whenever I have the heater on. I thought it might be the heater core, so I checked for leaks on the carpet on the driver and passenger side, but didn't notice wetness or leaks anywhere inside the cab. I checked the hoses for leaks and didn't see anything. The truck is not losing antifreeze, reservoir is full, and it does not run hot. Engine runs fine and does not overheat, even at highway speed. I'm at a loss for what could be causing the antifreeze smell. Is this the heater core about to go, and how hard is it to replace? Thank for the help.
A: It could be a heater core starting to leak just watch your coolant closely

A: I have a 03 tacoma. Mine does not do that. bad gauge maybe. I would look in to a aftermarket gauge.

A: That would be very strange you need a new Caliper on a Toyota. Caliper's might give you trouble after 12 years but it's not uncommon to see a Toyota last for 20 years trouble free. Get a second opinion!
Q: 2000 toyota tacoma 4x4?
since i bought my tacoma, the only thing i've done to it is the oil change every 3,000 miles, tire rotations, alignment, changed the battery, air filter, wiper and blades, flush the radiator, replaced four tires and replaced the bad oxygen sensor. i have 67,000 miles in it and had no problems with it except for my clutch, it makes a squeeking sound everytime i push it but it does shifts great. second one is my emergency brake light, it stays on even though the handle is pushed in all the way and when the truck get's warmed up it goes off and while i'm driving, a little turn to the right will turn the emergency brake light on again and a little jerk on my steering wheel to the left will turn it off. other than those two, is there anything else i need to do on my truck? like tune ups or any kind of service/maintenance needed. any help would be appreciated.
A: i dunno about the clutch, but I've got an 03 taco and my E-brake light would come on, and that's a signal that you are low on brake fluid, so I'd check that. If that's not it, it may be shorting out.

Sr5 with V-6 I just want to do a 6 in. lift on my tacoma. what do you think is good 3 in. body and 3 in. suspension? or just 6 in. suspension lift? and what tires and wheels would look good on it? Any ideas on how much will this cost me?
A: if you can swing it ,a suspension lift is always better than a body lift but not the cheapest.
