A: depends on how you want to do it. the cheap way would be to go with a 3 in body-lift and 3 in suspension lift. then your looking at 100 bucks for the body lift. the suspension can be handled different ways. you can go with spindle lifts, spring lifts, spring spacers, different models will have different equipment. the cheapest is spring spacers for about another 100 bucks. my advice is to spend a little money and go with the spindle lift and the replacement springs. go to tslifkits.com for prices.
Q: How do I tell if my 1998 Toyota Tacoma is a 2.4L or 2.7L?
I need to do an oil change and I'm trying to figure out what's the oil capacity is. It's a stick, 4cyl, but I don't know how to figure out whether it's a 2.4L or 2.7L. I checked the owner's manual but got nothing out of it.

My check engine light has been on for about a year. I have brought it to my dealership once and AAMCO twice. All three times they said that it was the gas cap being loose and there was nothing else wrong(the only code showing up when they run thier test).The 3rd time I brought it in was last Tuesday, I just recently got gas on Friday, made sure that I clicked it 3 or 4 times and yesterday the light came back on. Should I buy a new gas cap before I bring it somewhere else and does anyone have a suggestion on a specific gas cap? Is there also a way to reset the CEL myself if buying a new cap doesn't work? I am sick of having to bring it someplace, waste my day and have them tell me it is the same problem and there is nothing else they can do. Please help!!! Thanks in advance.
A: I've seen this problem hundreds of times at the dealership
I work at. You need to replace the cap with one from the
dealer. The light will go away after 20 to 30 trips. I would
not buy an aftermarket gas cap. Every car and truck that
comes in for the engine light on, 8 out of 10 times, it is the
gas cap.

Q: Lifting my 98 Toyota Tacoma?
I want to lift my 1998 Toyota Tacoma. I want to put a lot of lift for a low price. I want to put a 3" Trailmaster Body lift kit, a Trailmaster 2" suspension lift kit, a Trailmaster Add-A-Leaf kit, and a 2" leveling kit. Will that work or is there going to be overlapping of spacers and things?
If that doesn't work please suggest something that will.
A: It looks like you are looking to lift it about 5". In my opinion do away with the body lift. The only thing you get out of a body lift is clearance for tires, but it it shows all your suspension. I personally don't like the way they look. I put a 6" suspension on my truck with some 35" tires. It was a perfect setup. If you want to go bigger you can then add a body lift I guess. Its better to go with the lift all together rather than 2 different lifts like a body and a suspension. I think skyjackers and super-lift are some companies that you can find some lifts for your truck greater than 6". The reason why people do body lifts is cause its cheap. I recommend spending more money and doing it right

A: Technically speaking its not a recall.. Its an inspection for corrosion in the frame and I believe it includes Canadian vehicles also but I would call a dealer in Canada to find out for sure...

I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma and I want to get a bull bar or a light bar for it. I offroad alot and i'm tired of getting dings and scratches on the bottom of my bumper and it would be nice to have some extra lights for dark nights. I really like the Westin ultimate bull bar and the Westin safari light bar. I only have around $200 to spend. What brand and model do you think i should get for my truck?

I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma and the gasket on the front oxygen sensor went bad. Every parts store I've been to said I have to buy the whole kit
A: Can get both at Advance Auto Parts it comes with the 02 sensor for $142.00 If your lucky you can go to Toyota and get just the gasket.. I checked for you at my store, but no can do on the gasket.. sorry
