Q: Change time on 1994 Ford Ranger Radio?
I purchased a used 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4. It has the original Ford radio in it, but no documentation. I have ( and several friends) have tried to change the time on the radio, to no avail. Anyone know how or have the original owners manual that they could copy for me?

A: Press and hold the "clock" button until it starts blinking (I think). Then, two of the preset buttons have a little minus (-) mark on them. The left one changes the hour...the right one changes the minute. After you get it to the right time, press the "clock" button again. You can find a manual on ebay.

Q: Is there anybody out there that has knowledge about a 1994 ford Ranger, manual transmission.?
I have a 1994 ford-Ranger 2.3 liter manual5-speed with transmission problems. Can any body help me find the right people to talk to about this problem and if it is relyable information about my truck.

A: I had a 90 Ranger and the clutch went at about 70,000. I also had an issue with the truck "bucking" as a I tried to accelerate. I was told the computer boards on these were defective. Try to see if it was recalled for anything you can check the DOT site for your state or the Fed's.

Q: What kind of shocks should I buy for my 1994 Ford Ranger?
My Ranger Doesn't ride too nice and the shocks on it creak and groan and are about 60000 miles old, I know its time to replace them but I want to know what kind of shocks will give my Ranger the smoothest ride. I'm not looking for hardcore offroad shocks. Any suggestions would be nice, it is 4wd too if that helps.

A: Monroes would give you a good ride without harshness. I use Bilstein shocks on my trucks, they are expensive.

Q: where is oxygen sensor located on 1994 ford ranger?
also why does check engine light come on and engine is running good on 1994 ford ranger

A: Well, it would depend on the engine. If its a 4 cylinder, then there would be one, just forward of the catylitic converter. If a V-6, then one on each V side, before the cat. If the check engine light comes on, would be a good idea to find out why it would come on, before buying parts for it. Could be as simple as a fuel cap is off, or bad. Get the codes read first before buying parts needlessly. Or it could be more of a repair, as say a tuneup or something. Hope this helped some, good luck.

Gas gauge not working, but we do not have the owners manual and the fuse box cover is missing.

Q: How do I check and add transmission fluid in a 1994 ford ranger with a manual transmission?

A: manual trans usually have two large (18MM) diameter bolts in the side of the case, usually one is just above the other, slightly offset. The upper one is the fill, the lower one is the drain. With the vehicle level,Remove the upper bolt, if fluid tribbles out, the level is good. BTW, it's a pain to add fluid, it takes a funnel and hose inserted in the fill hole. You cannot overfill.

Q: where can i get leaf spring shackels for my 1994 ford ranger splash ?
i have tryed going through the dealer and they said they would cost 150.00 for the set of each side. i just really belive that i can get them cheaper off the internet. i dont need anything that lower or raises the truck i just need replacement. websites or stores that might carry such a thing would be enjoyed greatly.

A: http://www.jegs.com/ has them between $60-$90 per set. But not knowing the engine size/4WD I can't be for sure. They have a universal one for around $80 .

Q: transmission problem in a 1994 ford Ranger?
About three years ago I had a leak fixed (transmission seal) on my Ford Ranger five speed transmission. I had the work done during the summer, and had no problems until winter came. When the temperature outside is below about 45 degrees, the transmission will not go into any gear until the truck warms up completely to its normal operating temperature. It works fine once it is warmed up. The shop that did the work is out of business. I have a theory that they put the wrong weight transmission fluid in when they fixed the seal. Is this possible? I should add that this a manual transmission, 5 speed overdrive, and Ive had no problems with it other than the refusing to go into gear when cold.

A: This is possible. The early Fords used a type F fluid. It is thicker then the new stuff, Dex tron 3. Thy stopped using type F a while back but you can still find it for the older Fords. If thy did put it in, yes it will make the trans not work till it gets hot. About the only thing you can do is get it flushed and have a trans shop put in Dex ton 3

Q: how do i reset the fuel system on a 1994 ford ranger?
Just changed the fuel pump and need to reset the fuel system.

A: Pull the EFI or Fuel Pump relay out of the fuse box and turn the key on then off again and plug it back in and then turn the key on and off three times to prime the system and make sure you hear the pump before starting it.

Q: How do I adjust the emergency brake on a 1994 ford ranger?
Thanks, mud bug

A: you adjust the e brake in the rear drum assembly, you look inside and ind the cable and you should find something similar to a bolt or screw it that area, turn that bolt until the pads are out just enough to drag slightly on the drum when the drum is reinstalled. good luck.

Q: I took my 1994 ford ranger 4x4 muddin and took it home now it won't start what's wrong?
when i turn the key it just makes a single clicking noise is the starter wet how can i dry it, if that's the problem.

A: you probably got water in the ignition coil/coil pack or distributor . Can't remember if 94's have a distributor or not. Or maybe the exhaust is plugged with mud?

Q: Can you put a 1988 Ford Ranger XLT Sport motor in a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT?
Actually if you know what can you use from the older truck that would be fine to use in the 1994? Any ideas anyone? Mostly wondering about the motor though. Thks.

A: Yes sure you can I even think the motor mounts are the same when you pull them out inspect all connections and hoses you might have to move one to another, hope this helps
