I just got a ford f150 its all i could afford i did hoever get the 5.4 engine but i was wondering if the saleen body kits and performance parts would fit on a regular f150 such as the supercharger and the sideskirts

Q: Im restoring my 78 ford f150 and need parts like a bed doors and stuff like that anyone know any good sites?
ive tried ebay and they dont have anything any other websites
A: eBay motors is your best bet, but you have to be patient. There may not be something you're looking for every time you go looking, but if you learn how to use the 'saved search' function, you'll get notifications every time a matching listing comes up.
There are plenty of auto restoration dealers around, but finding one with what you need is a hit and miss proposition far more than eBay, as inventories of anything are constantly changing. And you'll most likely pay top dollar. eBay motors and patience should be the most help.

Q: 2002 Ford F150 - Name this part?
What is the name of the part that is between the Transfer Case and the Transmission on a 2002 Ford F150 4x4? It is just a hollow housing that connects the two.
No, it is between the transfer case and the tail of the transmission. It is a hollow peice. I need to find the gasket for it.
Where can we find the gasket? Can we only buy it at the ford dealer?
A: It is called a transmission extension housing. You need an extension housing gasket. There are 2 of them one on each end of it. Tell them whether you need the transmission or transfer case end as they are not the same.
Q: how do i determin weather my power steering pump for a ford f150 is metric or standerd.?
my ford f150 is making a very loud screetching noise. I took off the belt and checked all of my pullys and found that the power steering pully is very tight and hard to turn. Auto part store says i need to know weather its standerd or metric but they couldnt tell me how to find out.
A: After you pull it off, take it into the parts store and then can put a micrometer on the shaft and match it up for you.
Q: I want to buy a 97 and newer Ford F150 but...........?
I hear domestic cars have alot of issues. The engine gives out at 100,000 miles. The parts that Ford uses are cheap and will break easily. What are your opinion on the Ford F150, I am thinking abiout get one but I have been a big fan of toyota and I believe I will be better off with a 4runner or toyota tundra.
I heard Chevy are unreliable as well
Same goes for dodge
A: I would say the F-150. You have to keep in mind that the one thing the domestic auto makers never screwed up on is their trucks. The F-Series, GMC and Chevy *500 and the Dodge Ram *500 are all very good trucks, and I would buy them over any other Asian truck.
The Nissan Titan is rumored to be discontinued, and lets face it, how often do you see a farmer/contractor driving an Asian truck versus domestic?
I guess it would be what you want to use it for, too.
My buying guide would be:
City Driver: Chevy/GMC (They ride really nice compared to Dodge and Ford)
Work Truck: Ford/Dodge
Asian: Only if you have a stiffie for them.
It's not all that uncommon for Ford trucks to get past 300,000 Miles.
I know 4 people who own an F-Series Truck:
1992 F-250: 400,000KM
1988 F-150: 440,000KM
1996 F-250(diesel): 300,000KM
If that isn't enough for you, check out the mileage for some older trucks on ebay, you'll see lots that have passed the 200,000, 300,000, 400,000 and 500,000 Mile mark.
It's nice that the Asian auto makers are trying to get their foot into the truck game, but the fact remains that domestic will probably hold onto that market for a very long time, and they know they can't F that up, because it's all they have nowadays.
Just do me a favour, don't just listen to all the people who have hard-ons for Asian stuff, in-fact, don't even listen to me, look around, ask a few mechanics, I can pretty much tell you what their answers will be.
Q: How do you change the ignition switch (keyed part) on a 1989 Ford f150? (automatic)?
A: you have to pull the steering wheel
and there is a hole in the ignition housing where you will find a brass pin. with the key in the on position use a pic to push in the pin and at the same time pull the key away from the steering wheel. to make sure you are doing it right buy a HAYNES
repair manual or a shop manual the repair manual is cheaper
and does not cover very much but its only 22-25 dollars
a shop manual covers everything and is about 80 bucks
on some years the hole is on the outside of the housing
its only a pin hole located on the front part of the housing
where you put the key in you gotta twist around to see it
if there is no hole then u gotta pull the wheel
Q: i am looking for a diagram of a door panel for a 1993 Ford f150 truck. I want to replace the manual door part
I am thinking if I have a picture of all the workings I will have more confidence taking everything apart.
A: I think you'll be able to find this a couple of different ways:
Library: Check out and copy the diagram from the CHILTON's manual, as they are typically the best and most detailed.
Parts / Dealer Parts Location: See if they have it on their computers and if they can print it for you. Typically they have the "exploded view" with parts numbers attached and clickable for the part description, number, etc.
Good Luck.
Q: f150 ford lightning?
I heard there was a website that you can sell parts for a f150 ford lightning a specific website only for the sale of parts for ford lioghtnings, anybody know of it? or know of any website like this
A: Your best bet would be http://www.f150online.com/ , they have a classifieds section and there are a lot of Lightning owners that check it out.
Q: How much transmission fluid does a 1993 Ford F150 need?
I am going to change the automatic transmission fluid and my Haynes manual says I need to add 17 quarts to refill it. Can this be right? People in the parts store said it was only ten, maximum but didn't seem sure.... Thanks.
4.9L, E4OD, 2WD.
A: if you are only changing the pan gasket & tranny filter?
then you only need 5 quarts.
it holds a total of 10. five quarts in the pan & five quarts stay in the torqueconverter.
Q: where do i find the ford f150 brake booster? or is there a web site that helps with mechanic work?
i need to look for a leak in my brake booster, where is it? and is there a web site that is like one of the books you can buy at the parts store?
A: Its on the driverside fire wall under the hood.
Q: On a 2001 Ford F150, do you have to beat the outer wheel bearing seal into the hub or should it tap right in?
I'm packing new wheel bearings and installing them into a new hub. Everything looks right and compares to the old hub. I even called the auto parts store to make sure that I was given the right parts. I'm having a hard time getting the seal into the hub. I feel like I have to beat the seal in when I should be tapping it. Now the race will not come out. Is it me (a girl) or is something wrong?
A: the seal that you have may have been boxed wrong, meaning you have the right box, but the seal is wrong.
the race won't (or shouldn't) come out without using a punch, going back in - you can use a large socket to get it down all the way.
it shouldn't be that hard to get the seal in, try using a 2x4 setting that on the seal & beat on the 2x4 - if it still won't go in - take it back to the store & get another set of seals..
