A: I own a shop, and I'll tell you the same thing I have told my customers for years. Heat is what kills transmissions. If you are going to tow that much weight behind your Lincoln, then you need to install an external transmission cooler to keep it cool enough. Driving in overdrive won't hurt the transmission, but if you encounter some steep grades, then you will want to shift to the lower drive gear, and keep an eye on the temperature Gage. On level ground the transmission will actually run cooler in overdrive, but its not made to handle the heat generated on inclines. Your engine, transmission, and some vehicles have an oil cooler, all using the radiator for a heat exchanger to keep them cool, so if the engine gets hot, then the transmission is far too hot, and damage will take place. Have a cooler that's about an 8" x 10" mounted in front of the AC condenser, to where it can get plenty of cool air, and you should have no problems as long as you don't stand on the gas every time you take off. Just use common sense, and you should be just fine.

The base level Ford F-150 Supercrew cab seats 6 passengers, 3 in the front seat in a 40-20-40 configuration and 3 in the rear seat. If there are two captain's chairs in the front does this always eliminate the 3rd front middle passenger option?
A: Yes it does. Just count the seat belts.

A: you mean key code for the door?
look under your dash to the left of the brake pedal.. there will be a tan module with a big 5 digit number.. that 5 digit number is the keyless code....
On most it requires a trip to the dealer, but this one is right there and that's where the dealer will look...

Is there more than one length?
A: 5.5 FT up untill I believe '06, then they also offered a 6.5 ft box.

A: Put a chip in it.Depending on the chip it is the fastest and easiest way to add horsepower and torque.

A: You don't have to call the dealership, Number 1, they won't know the code from the vin number, Number 2 they will charge you to come in to the dealership to put it on the computer to get the code.
You will have to be sort of a contortionist though. The code is up under the dash. WAAAAAAYYYYY up under there. You will need a flash light and lay down on the floor board and crane your neck a little lying flat on your back, look as high up as you can directly over the steering column. There is a 5 digit number in BIG BOLD BLACK numerals. It should be on a opaque white computer control box or silver box. Good Luck. I just saved you $85 dollars. What is your address, I will send you a bill.
BTW, have you looked in your owners manuals yet, there might be a little plastic card with the 5 digit code on it.
Q: Which subs will sound best in my 2005 F150 SuperCrew?
As far as money, not too much of an object. The type of music I will listen to is mostly rock and rap. Two ten inch subs sound good, but I don't know what kind to get.
A: i would reccomend a ported box....since it not a hatch back your gonna lose alot of souns with a sealed..and u will be able to hear the woofer under stress.....not a ford guy so ill gues your gonna put the box under the rear seat..hope im right if. so build a custom box the fires the woofers at the floor...leaving bout 2 inches of space ...the run the ports out the sides neer the rear as to provide the best amplification of the sound....if u want sealed...again face the subs toward the floor leaving bout 2 inches of space...or get a q logic box. if they make one for this truck....as for subs...i use JL w3 v-2 in my blazer and a bazooka in my s-10...
tight spaces.....sealed...more room....ported...i would prob go with any mtx, bazooka, alpine, or JL...subs

A: look in Car and Driver magazines they have a great spread on car rims and tires. they should definitely have them

A: hear is the deal the super crew is quite roomy and if you live in the snow than 4X4 is definatly better than 4X2 but if it is not full time 4X4 than you will mostly be driving in rear drive i think if you do not need a pickup you should loo for an All wheel drive car or suv. the chrysler Pacifica for example is a large AWD car that could suite your needs or an Audi Allroad is anouther. they will both out handle and out perform the F150 on the road both in the snow and on dry pavement so unless you are going off road or you need a truck i would say go with one of the latter. If you need the truck then the F150 is a good choice.
Q: I popped the hood on my 2002 F150 supercrew and now I can't get the hood to close. How can I close it?
A: Apparently slamming it isn't working. Make sure to pull the hood release handle to make sure that the latch isn't latched without the hood. Then, make sure the handle under the dash is pushed all the way in. Fords are known for not latching if the hood handle is partway out. If the handle won't push in all the way, the hoodlatch mechanism might be hung up. Spray it down with some wd-40 (ugh, but you probably have it) and work the mechanism. You can latch it with a screwdriver, then pull the handle to release until it works freely.
Q: Do I need to lift my 2005 F150 Supercrew Lariat to put 35 inch tires on it?
A: Well, I have a 1989 Dodge Ramcharger and that has 35 inch tires on it, and they do not rub. Also, there have been no modifications to it. The tag inside the door frame says that it came from the factory with 31 inch tires, and the 35 inch tires clear, so I think it should work. Good Luck!!!

GET4WD EVEN IF YOU NEVER USE IT..... ONE DAY YOU WILL GO FISHING OR HUNTING AND THE 4WD WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.
AND IF YOU LIVE IN A SNOWY AREA 4WD SHOULD BE A GREAT SUPPORT.
AND AFTER ALL, EVEN WHEN YOU DECIDE TO SELL IT, THE 4WD BRINGS THE VALUE OF YOUR CAR A LITTLE HIGHER, SO YOU DONT LOSE WHAT YOU'VE PAYED FOR.
AND 4WD IS AROUND $2000. I THINK IT'S WORTH IT.
