Q: the parts off an 82 s10 truck are compatable for what years of a Chevy Blazer?
I have a 1982 chevy s10 4x4 shortbed truck ( 6 cyl) sitting in the back yard!. . .And i think some of the blazers look kind of cool
but ive heard that there a death trap. . .so i was woundering to save money. WHAT YEAR/YEARS is the parts of a blazer the same as an 82 s10 as for the motor or the frnders and doors aney clues?? I called the chevy specialst in my town and he said that it differs from the motor to the body. . .as far as i know the motor of a blazer is the same as the 82 up to 1985 but what year were they first come out whith the same motor. . .does aneyone get what im saying ????please help
A: Your question doesn't really make sense. If the Blazer is, indeed, a deathtrap, it will still be a deathtrap if you put S-10 parts on it.
That being said, the body should be the same or at least interchangeable up to at least the '91 (I think '92) model year with regards to fenders and doors and other body parts.
As far as the motor goes, there were a bunch of different ones used. Except for the enhanced Vortec 4.3 V-6 engine that came out around '92, I think, the 4.3 V-6s should be interchangeable. There was also a 2.8 V-6 that is totally different from the 4.3. It's a smaller 60-degree angle motor that was also used in Camaros and Firebirds. The 2.8s were the most plentiful engine used in the early years of the S-10s, S-15 GMCs, and Blazers/Jimmys.

Q: I own 2 93 chevy s10 4x4 extended cab trucks, should I part them or sell them whole for parts?
One has a title the other doesn't and between the 2, it could be 1 GREAT truck....I don't have the room or time to keep them around? Ebay, or local papers????? Love to know what you think....
A: I don't know anything about selling them, but those are really hot trucks if you fix them nice!!
Q: any one who has a 94 chevy S10 blazer 4X4 know if there is any major parts blocking the starter or is it easy?
I need help changing my starter
A: It's really not that hard. First thing you need to do is disconnect the battery (so you dont get shocked!!) There are two 15mm bolts you have to take off. Then take off the dust cover bolts. The dust cover is that big shield that covers up your flywheel and move the dust cover over to the side. Most of the time you can move the starter around enough so you can get the two nuts on the starter solenoid loose. Pull the two wires off of the starter solenoid. If you can't get the starter out of there still (most of the time you can) you will have to take off the exahust nuts on each side. There will be either two or three nuts on each side holding the exahust pipe to the manifold. Spray some W-D40 on them because they will probably be rusty. If they feel like they won't turn and you think you might break off one of the exauhst studs you will need to use a torch and heat up the nuts (a torch always works best) then twist them off. Anyway bring the exauhst down just far enough to make the dust cover go down a little farther so you can wiggle your starter out of there. It is kind of hard explaining how to work on something when you are typing out the instructions but I did the best I could. All else fails go and buy a chilton's manual they have picture illustrations that show how to do it on alot of repairs.

Q: I need to replace a window motor for my 2000 Chevy S10 Pickup?
What terms should I know when looking for one? Where is a reliable place/website to find/buy the part.
I saw something called a Window Regulator, Is that what I am looking for?
A: Go to your local junk/salvage yard. They have all car parts recorded on there comp. system. Also salvage yards have websites that you enter info into that helps you find the part you need.
Q: 1994 S10 Chevy Blazer is hard to start in the morning. After it starts it is easy to start all day.?
The Blazer has a new fuel pump, filters, plugs, wires, distributor, coil, ignition module, the whole ball of wax. Once I do get it started it will start all day with no problem until sitting all night. Then it is hard to start again. I have 65 lbs of fuel pressure so it can't be that. I brought it to GM and he put it on the computer and nothing came up. He said let's start replacing parts and see what we come up with. At the money it would cost to find the problem no way.
A: Sounds like a leaking fuel pressure regulator or fuel bypass valve---one of which allows excess fuel to return to the fuel tank---any slight leak inside the valve will bleed off the pressure overnight causing it to start hard after sitting a while but start ok after that....I'd replace which ever one controls the return flow of fuel to the tank first. Won't show up on a computer test as it's not part of the closed loop system. Could also be a few injectors leaking down overnight as well if you have the multiport system---have them tested.
Q: I have a problem with my 1989 Chevy S10 not starting?
Hi, I have a problem with my 1989 Chevy S10 Tahoe not starting or starting randomly and even stalling sometimes while driving. When I'm driving it sometimes stalls and I press the gas pedal so it won't turn off but it sort of lacks gas or something cause it won't respond right away after I press the gas pedal. I had a friend check it out and he replaced the TPS or throttle position sensor I think is what it was and it would run real good. So after about 2 days it started doing the same thing. So he checked it out again and plugged some sort of small pipe that was exposed near the bottom right front part of the Intake and it would run again for about a day this time. So after that, I unplugged a pipe running from the intake to the brake system thing ( it's a big donut looking thing that's positioned behind the brake fluid deposit, I think they told me it was called the brake booster system or something like that ). So I unplugged it at the brake system end and it would turn on and run OK, not so well it would still stall at times, also the brake pedal was hard to depress. So I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this situation as I'm desperate to get this truck running. Many thanks in advance.
A: well first off, the reason your brakes are hard is b/c you unpluged the vacuum source for your brake booster. The vacuum is used to help you apply the brakes. So hook that back up!
But to your original problem, I would say that you either have a igniton module going bad or a pick up coil starting to fail. check to see if you have spark at your spark wires. If not, that's most likely your problem. If you do have spark, You might have a fuel pump going out, so check fuel pressure when it won't start.
Hope this gets you in the right direction.
Q: S10 Performance parts?
I have a 2000 Chevy S10 with a L4 2.2 engine and so far Ive put in K&N cold air intake and a Flowmaster muffler and an aftermarket tailpipe.
My Question: What other performance items can I install on my truck to get the best bang for my buck?
Please don't tell me I need to drop a v6 or 8 into it(I love the mpg I get with the L4)
A: You want "performance parts" on a 4, in an S-10? Well, sorry to say, you won't get much more juice out of it. The filter and exhaust might have cool stickers, and might increase efficiency, but that's about it. Might go with an Accel coil and bigger wires, but no increase in power, And I doubt Superchips makes anything for that motor.
Q: how do i fix the leak in my 94' chevy s10 blazer?
i have transmission fluid leaking in the middle part of my s10 blazer, between the front seats underneath the car. there are a bunch of bolts golding this plate in, and thats where the leak is coming from, is it safe to take off that plate, and what could that mean as far as cost to fix, and what could the problem be.
A: those bolts hold you transmision pan on. there is a gasket there. when you remove those bolts be cafull and catch all the fuild about 5 quarts of transmission fluid. clean pan and transmission really good. go buy a new gasket and put it in and bolt up the pan with new gasket in place. just snug the bolts careful not to over tighten and pinch the new gasket into.
Q: Why does the fuel gauge on my 1998 chevy s10 not move past the halfway point?
I drove my truck with the fuel light on for extended periods and now my fuel guage doesn't move past the halfway point. i don't have any problems starting up or accelerating. what part do i need to replace?
A: sounds like you might have a problem with your fuel sending unit. it is located in the fuel tank , some times they go bad . you can a have a technician check it out , so you can be sure it;s your gauge or its your sending unit. good luck
Q: Is the 2005 chevy Blazer the same as the 2004 Model?
I have been looking for aftermarket parts for my 2005 chevy S10 blazer and the parts are only listed for the 2004 model. I was wondering if the 2004 aftermarket parts will fit my 2005 model
Tailights, corner lights, headlights, etc.
A: As long as it's a Blazer and not a trailblazer, I'd just about be positive that it's the same, since they were just selling the same thing until sales fell way off.
