A: fill it with a mix of half water, half coolant. fill up the radiator. start the truck and after a little you'll notice the coolant in the radiator go down. fill it back up to the top. turn off the truck. put the cap back on the radiator. now take the lid off the plastic overflow container and fill it half way. resecure the lid. BAM, you're done

The hood latch cable broke under the hood of my 1993 chevy S10. I tried to grab the cable through the grill and pull it but it is broken at the latch. I tried to wedge screwdrivers in where I can see the latch through the grill but no luck. Does anybody have any suggestions. Luckily I just topped off the oil and have a new battery.
A: You will have to lay down and reach up behind the bumper, to get to the latch. You should be able to grab the latch , where the cable attaches, and pull the lever by hand.

A: a starter is generally on the bottom of the engine, near the area where the transmission connects. it should be easy to replace, with just 2 or 3 bolts holding the assembly on, with a few wires that will need to be disconnected as well.

i have a chevy s10 carborated 2.8 engine and when im driving the truck will hesitate and then i will have to pump the gas and then there is a popping noise (im not sure if its back firing or not) then it will eccelerate.before the i got the truck it was sitting for an unkown amount of time.i have already changed the fuel filter and i have done a full tune-up.

I have had several things happen to my truck 1998 that have been covered by it seems like every year except 1998 or to other makes or models from 1998. Most recently my wipers have stopped working from time to time and I discovered a recall for the exact problem for 1996 Chevy S10's. I read somewhere that I needed to look more widely at recalls to see if it applied to all chevy trucks or whatnot. I can't seem to find this. Any ideas?
A: i had a 98 and it did the same thing. i took it to the dealer and they told me the recall did not apply to the 98s. I found that the wiper control module under the hood is what goes bad. You can pick it up at an indepent parts place for a whole lot cheaper than the dealer will sell it for.

I have a 2000 Chevy s10 and the headlights were pointing practically all the way up. I was able to free the adjustment screws and put them down a little bit, but if anyone knows the actual hight the headlights should be at that would be great. (also the width between the headlights.)

I have a 1994. Chevy s10. 4.3L V6 Automatic. I was wondering if yall think it could pull a 2 horse trailer, using just the bumper, or if i should buy a receiver hitch or not tow with this truck at all?
A: Best bet is to read your owners manual for towing specifics. It will tell you if you need a reese hitch with load levels and sway bars , etc I personally would never tow a horse trailer just using the bumper. Also you will probably want to have an electric brake installed just to be safe since you will be hauling living creatures. Good Luck !!

A: Look for a Chiltons or Haynes manual for your car. If you can't afford to buy one, the local library often has them.
Q: 1994 Chevy S10 with clutch not engaging until pedal on firewall?
Master cylinder, 2nd slave cylinder, throw-out bearing changed. System bleed numerous times. Can anyone give any advice to a fix for this? The engine(4.3)/transmission is out of a 95 chevy s10. I have shimmed the inside of the slave cylinder to gain another 1/4" in the pedal.
A: Your question is confusing. The clutch should not engage when the pedal is on the firewall. The clutch should disengage when pedal is on the firewall> Sounds like air in the system or the clutch was installed improperly>
Q: Should I charge Chevy S10 battery at 6 or 12 volt setting?
My Chevy S10 pick-up battery is really low and a jump is not convenient since the truck is out is a field. I have a battery charger with 6 volt and 12 volt options to do a trickle charge at 1 amp for 24 hours. Which setting is right for the batter? Alternately, any web site come to mind with good details on old car/ truck parts that would tell me about the standard battery on this thing?
A: If the battery is over 5 years old, I'd buy a new battery and install it especially on a vehicle that doesn't get run much during the week. You need a battery that can hold a charge good. You might even consider buying one of the newer spiral core batteries by Optima. It's best to disconnect the negative battery cable and use the 12 volt battery charging position. Alternatively, buy a 10 Amp charger and charge the battery for 4 hours at 12 Volts on the 10 Amp setting. Loosen the battery caps to prevent any explosive fumes buildup and wear safety glasses.
